Spy Shots Reveal a Stretched 2018 Buick Enclave

Most vehicles get a refresh every four or five years. With a new generation comes a new body styling and technology. Of course, the Buick Enclave is an exception. The current generation has been around for nine years. Its replacement, though, is finally around the horizon. Spy shots captured images of a camouflage-covered 2018 Buick Enclave.

So what can be seen behind the covers? For one, there is a new Buick family grill, not to mention a pair of LED lights. The camouflage has also been cut open in areas where sensors are normally placed, hinting at a possible parking sensor or some other driving aid.

In the rear, the bumper appears to sport dual exhaust pipes. Again, there appears to be a few additional cuts in the camouflage for sensors.

The biggest change, however, are on the sides. A profile view of the vehicle reveals a stretched wheelbase. The current Buick Enclave shares a platform with the Chevrolet Traverse, which is one of the larger SUVs on the market. The new Buick Enclave, though, is expected to utilize a longer but overall slimmer platform in order to compete with the midsize crossover segment. With the new platform, the Buick Enclave is expected to shed a few extra hundred pounds.

All in all, the Buick brand is doing quite well. The Buick Enclave and its cousin, the subcompact Buick Encore, are selling like hotcakes. The latter, in fact, has sold 500,000 units in just 3.5 years.
